Kṣemadarśa–Kālakavṛkṣīya Saṃvāda: Counsel on Impermanence, Non-attachment, and Composure in Dispossession

आत्मनो<ध्रुवतां पश्य॑स्तांस्त्वं किमनुशोचसि । बुद्धया चैवानुबुद्धयस्व ध्रुवं हि न भविष्यसि,यह शरीर अनित्य है, इस बातको तुम देखते और समझते हो, फिर उन पूर्वजोंके लिये क्यों निरन्तर शोक करते हो? जरा बुद्धि लगाकर विचार तो करो, निश्चय ही एक दिन तुम भी नहीं रहोगे

ātmano 'dhruvatāṃ paśyaṃs tāṃs tvaṃ kim anuśocasi | buddhyā caivānubuddhyasva dhruvaṃ hi na bhaviṣyasi ||

ശരീരം അനിത്യമാണ് എന്നു നീ കാണുകയും ഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; പിന്നെ ആ പിതൃപുരുഷന്മാർക്കായി എന്തിന് നിരന്തരം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു? ബുദ്ധി ചേർത്ത് ആലോചിക്ക—നിശ്ചയം ഒരു ദിവസം നീയും നിലനിൽക്കുകയില്ല।
