शूरलक्षणवर्णनम् | Marks and Typologies of Martial Temperament
प्रविशन्ति च वेगेन साम्पराये ह्युपस्थिते । वारणा इव सम्मत्तास्ते भवन्ति दुरासदा:,जिनकी आँखें तिरछी, ललाट ऊँचे और ठोड़ी मांसहीन एवं दुबली-पतली है, जिनकी भुजाओंपर वज्रका और अंगुलियोंपर चक्रका चिह्न होता है तथा जिनके शरीरकी नस- नाड़ियाँ दिखायी देती हैं, वे युद्ध उपस्थित होते ही बड़े वेगसे शत्रुओंकी सेनामें घुस जाते हैं और मततवाले हाथियोंके समान शत्रुओंके लिये दुर्जय होते हैं
praviśanti ca vegena sāmparāye hy upasthite | vāraṇā iva sammattās te bhavanti durāsadāḥ ||
അന്തിമ ഏറ്റുമുട്ടൽ ഉപസ്ഥിതമായാൽ അവർ മഹാവേഗത്തോടെ ശത്രുസേനയിൽ കുതിച്ചുകയറും. മത്തഗജങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അവർ ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് ദുർജയ—അടുത്തുചേരാനാകാത്ത, ഭയങ്കര—ആകുന്നു।
