प्रजापतिसुतेनाथ भूगुणा लोकभावन: । अतिकाय: स तेजस्वी लोकसारो विनिर्मित:,ब्रह्माजीके पुत्र महर्षि भृगुने तीव्र तपस्यासे भरे हुए लोकमंगलकारी विशालकाय एवं तेजस्वी दधीचको उत्पन्न किया था। ऐसा जान पड़ता था, मानो सम्पूर्ण जगत्के सारतत्त्वसे उनका निर्माण किया गया हो

prajāpatisutena atha bhṛguṇā lokabhāvanaḥ |

പിന്നീട് പ്രജാപതിയുടെ പുത്രനായ ഭൃഗു ലോകങ്ങളെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദധീചിയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു—അവൻ വിശാലകായനും തേജസ്വിയും ആയിരുന്നു; ലോകസാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു തന്നെ നിർമ്മിതനായതുപോലെ തോന്നി।
