Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma as reliability: when a time or agreement has been set, one should fulfill it without deviation. The river-goddess Sarasvatī acts in accordance with the appointed time and proceeds to the sage, modeling integrity and orderly conduct.

At the destined time Sarasvatī gives birth to a son. She then takes the newborn and goes to a certain sage, indicating the continuation of a prior arrangement or purpose connected with the child.
