अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः

इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ााभारत शल्यपर्वमें धृतराष्ट्रका विलापविषयक दूसरा अध्याय पूरा हुआ,निहते सूतपुत्रे तु पाण्डवेन महात्मना । विद्रुतेषु च सैन्येषु समानीतेषु चासकृत्
nihate sūtaputre tu pāṇḍavena mahātmanā | vidruteṣu ca sainyeṣu samānīteṣu cāsakṛt ||
ഇങ്ങനെ ശ്രീമഹാഭാരതത്തിലെ ശല്യപർവത്തിൽ ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രവിലാപവിഷയകമായ രണ്ടാം അധ്യായം സമാപിച്ചു. മഹാത്മാവായ പാണ്ഡവൻ സൂതപുത്രനെ വധിച്ചപ്പോൾ, സൈന്യങ്ങൾ അക്രമമായി പിന്മാറി പിന്നെയും പിന്നെയും കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കപ്പെട്ടതോടെ, യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ധാർമ്മിക-മാനസിക ഭാരം കൂടുതൽ ഭയാനകമായി.
