द्वैपायनह्रदे दुर्योधनान्वेषणम् / The Search for Duryodhana at Dvaipāyana Lake
वह मन-ही-मन सोचने लगा कि हमारा और इन क्षत्रियोंका जो महान् संहार हुआ है, इसे महाज्ञानी विदुरजीने अवश्य पहले ही देख और समझ लिया था |। एवं विचिन्तयानस्तु प्रविविक्षु्हदं नृप: । दुःखसंतप्तह्दयो दृष्टवा राजन् बलक्षयम्,राजन्! अपनी सेनाका संहार देखकर इस प्रकार चिन्ता करते हुए राजा दुर्योधनका हृदय दुःख और शोकसे संतप्त हो उठा था। उसने सरोवरमें प्रवेश करनेका विचार किया
evaṁ vicintayānas tu pravivekṣuḥ hṛdaṁ nṛpaḥ | duḥkha-santapta-hṛdayo dṛṣṭvā rājan bala-kṣayam ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇങ്ങനെ മനസ്സിൽ ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, തന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ നാശം കണ്ടു, ദുഃഖത്തിൽ ദഹിച്ച ഹൃദയത്തോടെ രാജാവ് മഹാവിനാശത്തിനു ശേഷം ഒളിവിനായി തടാകത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കണമെന്ന് മനസ്സിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു।
