कि कृतं सलिले शर्व चिरकालस्थितेन ते । किमर्थ चेदमुत्पाद्य लिड्ढ भूमौ प्रवेशितम्‌

Transliteration

ki kṛtaṃ salile śarva cirakālasthitena te | kimartha cedam utpādya liḍḍhaṃ bhūmau praveśitam ||

Translation

ഹേ ശർവ (രുദ്രദേവാ)! നീ ദീർഘകാലം ജലത്തിൽ നിലകൊണ്ടു എന്ത് കര്‍മ്മം സാധിച്ചു? പിന്നെ ഈ ലിംഗം ഉത്പാദിപ്പിച്ച് എന്തിനാണ് ഭൂമിയിൽ എറിഞ്ഞ് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്?
