मामप्युद्धृतवान् कृच्छात् पौलोमीं मघवानिव । “इसी प्रकार हिडिम्बासुरसे भेंट होनेपर भी आप ही उनके आश्रयदाता हुए। विराटनगरमें जब कीचकने मुझे बहुत तंग कर दिया
mām apy uddhṛtavān kṛcchrāt paulomīṃ maghavān iva |
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “മഘവാൻ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) ഒരിക്കൽ പൗലോമിയെ രക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ, നീയും എന്നെ ഭയങ്കരമായ ദുരിതത്തിൽ നിന്ന് കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു രക്ഷിച്ചു. ഹിഡിംബനുമായി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടൽ ഉണ്ടായപ്പോഴും നീ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ആശ്രയദാതാവ്; വിരാടനഗരത്തിൽ കീചകൻ എന്നെ അത്യന്തം പീഡിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ആ മഹാസങ്കടത്തിൽ നിന്നുമെനെയും നീ രക്ഷിച്ചു—ഇന്ദ്രൻ പൗലോമിയെ രക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ.”
