Report of the Night Raid and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Lament
संग्रामचन्द्रोदयवेगवेलं द्रोणार्णवं ज्यातलनेमिघोषम् । ये तेरुरुच्चावचशस्त्रनौभि- स्ते राजपुत्रा निहता: प्रमादात्
saṅgrāmacandrodayavegavelaṃ droṇārṇavaṃ jyātalanemighoṣam | ye terur uccāvacāśastranāubhis te rājaputrā nihatāḥ pramādāt ||
സംഗ്രാമം ചന്ദ്രോദയംപോലെ ദ്രോണ-സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ വേഗമേറിയ തിരകളെ ഉച്ചത്തിലാക്കി; ജ്യാതങ്കാരവും രഥചക്രങ്ങളുടെ മുഴക്കവും അതിന്റെ ഗർജ്ജനമായിരുന്നു. ഉയർന്നതും താഴ്ന്നതുമായ നാനാവിധ ശസ്ത്രങ്ങളെ നൗകകളാക്കി ആ ദ്രോണ-സമുദ്രം കടന്ന രാജപുത്രന്മാരേ, അവസാനം അശ്രദ്ധകൊണ്ട് നിഹതരായി।
