विदुर उवाच महाराज विजानीहि यतृ्‌ त्वां वक्ष्यामि भारत । मुमूर्षोरौषधमिव न रोचेतापि ते श्रुतम्‌

Transliteration

vidura uvāca mahārāja vijānīhi yat tvāṁ vakṣyāmi bhārata | mumūrṣor auṣadham iva na rocetāpi te śrutam ||

Translation

വിദുരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മഹാരാജാ, ഹേ ഭാരതാ! ഞാൻ പറയാൻ പോകുന്നതു നന്നായി ഗ്രഹിക്കൂ. മരണാസന്നനായ രോഗിക്ക് ഔഷധം രുചിക്കാത്തതുപോലെ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു പ്രിയമല്ലാതിരുന്നാലും, അവ കേട്ട് മനസ്സിലാക്കുക।
