प्रकालयेद् दिश: सर्वा: प्रतोदेनेव सारथि: । प्रत्यमित्रश्रियं दीप्तां जिघ॒क्षुर्भरतर्षभ
prakalayed diśaḥ sarvāḥ pratodeneva sārathiḥ | pratyamittraśriyaṃ dīptāṃ jighakṣur bharatarṣabha ||
ഭരതശ്രേഷ്ഠനേ! സാരഥി പ്രതോദംകൊണ്ട് അശ്വങ്ങളെ ഉത്തേജിപ്പിച്ച് രഥത്തെ എല്ലാ ദിക്കുകളിലേക്കും ഓടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന സമൃദ്ധിയെ തകർക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് അവൻ എല്ലാദിക്കുകളിലേക്കും പാഞ്ഞുചെന്നു.
