नावि नौरिव सम्बद्धा यथान्धो बान्धमन्वियात् | तथाभूता हि कौरव्या येषां भीष्म त्वमग्रणी:,भीष्म! जैसे एक नाव दूसरी नावमें बाँध दी जाय, एक अंधा दूसरे अंधेके पीछे चले; वही दशा इन सब कौरवोंकी है, जिन्हें तुम-जैसा अगुआ मिला है
nāvi naur iva sambaddhā yathāndho bāndham anviyāt | tathābhūtā hi kauravyā yeṣāṃ bhīṣma tvam agraṇīḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മാ! ഒരു വള്ളം മറ്റൊരു വള്ളത്തോട് കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു കുരുടൻ മറ്റൊരു കുരുടനെ പിന്തുടരുന്നതുപോലെ—അങ്ങനെ തന്നെയാണ് ഈ കൗരവരുടെ അവസ്ഥ; കാരണം അവരുടെ അഗ്രഗാമി നീയാണ്.
