तत्रान्तरे सुमहत् सूतपुत्र- श्रक्रे युद्धे सोमकान् सम्प्रमृदूनन् रथाश्वमातड्रगणान् जघान प्रच्छादयामास शरैर्दिशश्ष
tatrāntare sumahat sūtaputraḥ śakre yuddhe somakān sampramṛdūnan rathāśvamātaṅgagaṇān jaghāna pracchādayāmāsa śaraiḥ diśaḥ
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇതിനിടയിൽ സൂതപുത്രൻ കർണൻ സോമകരെ തകർത്തുകൊണ്ട് മഹായുദ്ധം നടത്തി. അവരുടെ അനേകം രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരകളും ഗജസമൂഹങ്ങളും വധിച്ചു; തന്റെ അമ്പുകളാൽ ദിക്കുകളെല്ലാം മറച്ചുവെച്ചതുപോലെ തോന്നിച്ചു.
