तथार्दितान् भीमबलान् भीमसेनेन भारत । दृष्टवा दुर्योधनो राजा इदं वचनमब्रवीत्,भरतनन्दन! भयंकर बलशाली अपने सैनिकोंको भीमसेनके द्वारा इस प्रकार पीड़ित देखकर राजा दुर्योधनने उनसे निम्नांकित वचन कहा
tathārditān bhīmabalān bhīmasenena bhārata | dṛṣṭvā duryodhano rājā idaṃ vacanam abravīt bharatanandana ||
ഓ ഭാരതാ! ഭീമസേനൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ച തന്റെ ബലവാന്മാരായ സൈന്യത്തെ കണ്ട രാജാവ് ദുര്യോധനൻ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ പറഞ്ഞു।
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports that Bhīma is severely pressing the Kaurava troops. Duryodhana, witnessing this distress, begins to address his men (the next verses give his actual instructions or rebuke).
