युधिष्ठिरस्य धनंजय-प्रति गर्हा
Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya
ततो युधिष्ठिर: कर्णमदूरस्थं निवारितम् | अब्रवीत् परवीरघ्नं क्रोधसंरक्तलोचन:,उस समय युधिष्ठिरने क्रोधसे लाल आँखें करके शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाले कर्णसे जो पास ही रोक दिया गया था, इस प्रकार कहा--
tato yudhiṣṭhiraḥ karṇam adūrasthaṃ nivāritam | abravīt paravīraghnaṃ krodhasaṃraktalocanaḥ ||
അപ്പോൾ ക്രോധത്തിൽ ചുവന്ന കണ്ണുകളോടെ യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ, അടുത്തുതന്നെ തടയപ്പെട്ട ശത്രുവീരഘ്നനായ കർണനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു.
संजय उवाच
Even in a just cause, anger can cloud judgment; the verse highlights the ethical need for restraint and clarity in speech and action during war, especially for a king responsible for dharma.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira, enraged, turns to address Karṇa, who is nearby but has been held back; the verse sets up Yudhiṣṭhira’s forthcoming words in the heat of battle.
