Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
प्रत्युवाच तत: काक: सीदमान इदं वच: । उपरिष्ट तदा हंसमभिवीक्ष्य प्रसादयन्,तब जलमें अत्यन्त कष्ट पाते हुए कौएने जलके ऊपर ठहरे हुए हंसकी ओर देखकर उसे प्रसन्न करनेके लिये कहा
pratyuvāca tataḥ kākaḥ sīdamāna idaṃ vacaḥ | upariṣṭāt tadā haṃsam abhivīkṣya prasādayan |
അപ്പോൾ വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നും അത്യന്തം കഷ്ടപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്ത കാക്ക ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു. വെള്ളത്തിനുമീതെ നിലകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഹംസത്തെ മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി, അവനെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ വിനയത്തോടെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
