द्रोणपुत्रस्य विक्रान्तं राधेयस्यैव चो भयो: । पश्यन्तु पाण्डुपुत्रास्ते विष्णुवासवयोरिव,“आज पाण्डव भगवान् विष्णु और इन्द्रके समान शक्तिशाली द्रोणपुत्र तथा राधापुत्र दोनोंके पराक्रमको देखें
droṇaputrasya vikrāntaṃ rādheyasyaiva cobhayoḥ | paśyantu pāṇḍuputrās te viṣṇuvāsavayor iva ||
ഇന്ന് പാണ്ഡുപുത്രര് വിഷ്ണുവിനെയും വാസവനെയും (ഇന്ദ്രനെ) പോലെ ശക്തിമാന്മാരായ ദ്രോണപുത്രനും രാധേയനും—ഇരുവരുടെയും പരാക്രമം കാണട്ടെ.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how war magnifies reputations and moral stakes: by likening human warriors to gods, the narrative highlights the intensity of kṣatriya duty and the psychological dimension of battle—courage is tested not only by weapons but by confronting famed, seemingly superhuman opponents.
Sañjaya, reporting the battlefield to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, declares that the Pāṇḍavas will witness the combined valour of Aśvatthāman (Droṇa’s son) and Karṇa (Rādheya), compared to Viṣṇu and Indra—an announcement that anticipates fierce combat and elevates the Kaurava side’s champions.
