त्वदीयानां तदा युद्धे संसक्तानां जयैषिणाम् | गिरिमस्तं समासाद्य प्रत्यपद्यत भानुमान्,इस प्रकार जब आपके विजयाभिलाषी सैनिक युद्धमें संलग्न हो रहे थे, उसी समय सूर्यदेव अस्ताचल पहुँचकर डूब गये
tvadīyānāṁ tadā yuddhe saṁsaktānāṁ jayaiṣiṇām | girim astaṁ samāsādya pratyapadyata bhānumān ||
അപ്പോൾ തന്നേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ജയാകാംക്ഷികളായ സൈനികർ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ മുഴുകിയിരിക്കെ, ഭാനുമാൻ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തഗിരിയെ പ്രാപിച്ച് ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് മറഞ്ഞു।
संजय उवाच
Even in a war driven by the desire for victory, human action is constrained by larger rhythms—time, daylight, and cosmic order. The sunset functions as a moral and practical boundary, tempering relentless aggression and signaling a pause that can invite reflection and restraint.
As the Kaurava forces are actively engaged in battle and striving for victory, the Sun sets behind the western mountain/horizon. This marks the close of the day’s fighting and serves as a transition point in Sañjaya’s report to Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
