Chariot Duel and Astra-Exchange
तथा प्रयाते राजेन्द्र कर्णे नरवरोत्तमे । धनंजयमभिप्रेक्ष्य धर्मराजो5ब्रवीदिदम्,राजेन्द्र! मनुष्योंमें श्रेष्ठ कर्णके इस प्रकार यात्रा करनेपर धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने अर्जुनकी ओर देखकर इस प्रकार कहा--
tathā prayāte rājendra karṇe naravarottame | dhanañjayam abhiprekṣya dharmarājo 'bravīd idam ||
രാജേന്ദ്രാ! മനുഷ്യരിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ കർണ്ണൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, ധർമ്മരാജൻ യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ ധനഞ്ജയൻ (അർജുനൻ) നോക്കി ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു।
संजय उवाच
Even amid battlefield urgency, the narrative highlights dharmic deliberation: Yudhiṣṭhira’s first response is not impulsive reaction but mindful counsel directed to Arjuna, implying that righteous action in war requires awareness, restraint, and duty-guided speech.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Karṇa has proceeded in a particular manner; seeing this, Yudhiṣṭhira turns his attention to Arjuna and begins to speak, setting up the next instruction or decision in response to Karṇa’s movement.
