ततो दुर्योधनो राजा साम्ना परमवल्गुना । तानाभाष्य महेष्वासान् प्राप्तकालमभाषत
tato duryodhano rājā sāmnā paramavalgūnā | tān ābhāṣya maheṣvāsān prāptakālam abhāṣata ||
അനന്തരം രാജാവ് ദുര്യോധനൻ സാന്ത്വനഭരിതമായ അതിമധുര വാക്കുകളാൽ ആ മഹാധനുർധര രാജാക്കളെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്ത് കാലോചിതമായി പറഞ്ഞു—“ജ്ഞാനികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠരായ രാജാക്കന്മാരേ! നിങ്ങളുടെ അഭിപ്രായം വേഗം പറയുക; താമസിക്കരുത്. ഈ അവസ്ഥയിൽ നാം എന്ത് ചെയ്യണം? ഏറ്റവും അടിയന്തിരമായ ധർമ്മകർത്തവ്യം ഏത്?”
