Even amid violence, the ideal warrior is marked by steadiness: after being stunned, Arjuna regains composure and acts with controlled, purposeful skill rather than panic—an expression of kṣatriya-dharma and self-mastery under pressure.
Arjuna is hit hard by a śakti weapon and briefly faints. Recovering, he licks the corners of his mouth and retaliates by shooting fourteen heavy nārāca arrows, injuring Sudakṣiṇa and also striking his horses, banner, bow, and charioteer.
