Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 37: Sañjaya’s Account of Abhimanyu’s Precision Disruption of a Chariot Contingent
तब आपके सभी पुत्रोंने मिलकर अभिमन्युको त्रास देना आरम्भ किया, फिर तो वह क्रोधसे जल उठा और अपनी अस्त्र-शिक्षा तथा हृदयका महान् बल दिखाने लगा ।।
tataḥ sarve tava putrāḥ saṃhatā abhimanyum trāsayitum ārabdhāḥ; sa tu krodhena pradīptaḥ svāṃ astravidyāṃ hṛdayasya ca mahad balaṃ pradarśayām āsa. garuḍānilaraṃhobhir ayayantur vākyakaraiḥ; dāntair aśmakadāyādas tvaramāṇo hāvārayat.
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു അഭിമന്യുവിനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അവൻ ക്രോധാഗ്നിപോലെ ജ്വലിച്ചു, തന്റെ അസ്ത്രവിദ്യയിലെ പ്രാവീണ്യവും ഹൃദയത്തിലെ മഹാബലവും പ്രകടമാക്കി. ഗരുഡനും കാറ്റും പോലെയുള്ള വേഗത്തിൽ അവൻ മുന്നേറി, ത്വരിതമായി അശ്മകവംശ യുവരാജന്റെ ആക്രമണത്തിന്റെ പ്രചണ്ഡവേഗം തടഞ്ഞുനിർത്തി.
