त॑ द्रौणि: समरे क्रुद्धं छादयामास पत्रिभि: । विव्याध चैनं दशभि: पितुर्वधमनुस्मरन्‌

taṁ drauṇiḥ samare kruddhaṁ chādayāmāsa patribhiḥ | vivyādha cainaṁ daśabhiḥ pitur-vadham anusmaran |

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സമരത്തിൽ ക്രുദ്ധനായ ദ്രൗണി അശ്വത്ഥാമൻ, പിതാവിന്റെ വധം വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ഓർത്ത്, ധൃഷ്ടദ്യുമ്നനെ അമ്പുകളുടെ മഴകൊണ്ട് മൂടി; പിന്നെ പത്തു ശറകളാൽ അവനെ കുത്തി ഗുരുതരമായ മുറിവേൽപ്പിച്ചു.
