यदत्रानन्तरं कार्य प्राप्तकालं च पश्यसि । कर्णस्य वधसंयुक्तं तत् कुरुष्व धनंजय,“धनंजय! अब यहाँ कर्णके वधके सम्बन्धमें तुम्हें जो समयोचित कर्तव्य दिखायी देता हो, उसे करो”
sañjaya uvāca |
yad atrānantaraṃ kāryaṃ prāptakālaṃ ca paśyasi |
karṇasya vadhasaṃyuktaṃ tat kuruṣva dhanaṃjaya ||
ഹേ ധനഞ്ജയാ! ഇവിടെ ഇപ്പോൾ നിനക്ക് തൽക്ഷണം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതും കാലോചിതവുമായ കര്ത്തവ്യം എന്തെന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ—പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് കർണവധവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടത്—അത് ഇപ്പോൾ തന്നെ ചെയ്യുക।
