न किंचिद् विदुरात्मानमयमस्मीति भारत । भारत! उस रात्रिके समय जब वह भयंकर कोलाहलपूर्ण संग्राम चल रहा था
na kiñcid vidur ātmānam ayam asmīti bhārata |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ഭാരത, ആ രാത്രിയിൽ ഭീകരമായ കോലാഹലത്തോടെ സമരം കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യോദ്ധാക്കൾക്ക് ഒന്നും വ്യക്തമായി പിടികിട്ടിയില്ല. ആശയക്കുഴപ്പത്തിൽ അവർ സ്വയം പോലും തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല—“ഞാൻ ഇദ്ദേഹം” എന്നറിയാനും ആയില്ല.
