सा5पतन्मेदिनीं दीप्ता भासयन्ती महाप्रभा | अपने ऊपर आती हुई उस शक्तिको शिखण्डीने बहुत-से बाण मारकर काट दिया। वह अत्यन्त कान्तिमती एवं प्रकाशमान शक्ति खण्डित हो सब ओर प्रकाश बिखेरती हुई पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ी
sāpatat medinīṁ dīptā bhāsayantī mahāprabhā | ātmana upari āpatantīṁ tāṁ śaktiṁ śikhaṇḍī bahubhir bāṇaiḥ prahṛtya ciccheda | sā atyanta-kāntimatī prakāśamānā śaktiḥ khaṇḍitā sarvato raśmīn vikīrya medinīṁ papāta ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അത്യന്തം ദീപ്തിമതിയും മഹാപ്രഭയുമുള്ള ആ ശക്തി ചുറ്റുമെല്ലാം പ്രകാശം പരത്തി ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു വീഴാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അത് ശിഖണ്ഡിയുടെ മേൽ പാഞ്ഞുവരുന്നതു കണ്ട ശിഖണ്ഡി അനവധി അമ്പുകളാൽ അതിനെ പ്രഹരിച്ച് മുറിച്ചുതകർത്തു. ഖണ്ഡിതമായ ആ അത്യന്തം പ്രകാശമുള്ള ആയുധം എല്ലാ ദിക്കുകളിലേക്കും വെളിച്ചം ചിതറിച്ച് നിലത്തുവീണു.
