द्रोणपर्व — पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः (Droṇa Parva, Chapter 15): युधिष्ठिर-रक्षा तथा अर्जुनस्य शरवृष्टिः
सौभद्रो5प्यशनिप्रख्यां प्रगृह्ा महतीं गदाम् । एह्टोहीत्यब्रवीच्छल्यं यत्नाद् भीमेन वारित:
Saubhadro 'py aśaniprakhyāṁ pragṛhya mahatīṁ gadām | eho hīty abravīc chalyaṁ yatnād bhīmena vāritaḥ ||
സുഭദ്രാപുത്രൻ അഭിമന്യുവും ഇടിമിന്നൽപോലെ തോന്നുന്ന മഹാഗദ കൈയിൽ എടുത്ത് മുന്നോട്ട് വന്ന് “വാ, വാ” എന്ന് വിളിച്ച് ശല്യനെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ഭീമസേനൻ വലിയ ശ്രമത്തോടെ അവനെ തടഞ്ഞു.
