अत्यद्भुतमिदं तात त्वत्सकाशाच्छूणोम्यहम्‌ । एकस्य बहुभि: सार्ध शत्रुभिस्तैर्महारथै:

Transliteration

atyadbhutam idaṃ tāta tvat-sakāśāc chṛṇomy aham | ekasya bahubhiḥ sārdhaṃ śatrubhis tair mahārathaiḥ ||

Translation

താതാ! നിന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്ന് ഞാൻ അത്യന്തം അത്ഭുതകരമായൊരു കാര്യം കേൾക്കുന്നു—ശത്രുസേനയിലെ ആ അനേകം മഹാരഥന്മാരോടൊപ്പം ഒരേയൊരു സാത്യകിക്ക് ഇങ്ങനെ ഭീകരമായൊരു യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായെന്ന്.
