Chapter 111
स विध्यमान: समरे पाण्डवैर्जितकाशिभि:
sa vidhyamānaḥ samare pāṇḍavair jitakāśibhiḥ
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു: സമരത്തിൽ കാശി ജയിച്ച പാണ്ഡവരുടെ പ്രഹരങ്ങളാൽ അവൻ വിദ്ധനാകുകയായിരുന്നു.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the harsh ethical reality of war: even renowned warriors and victors are subject to injury and reversal. Martial glory (such as having conquered Kāśī) does not negate the immediate moral and physical consequences of battle.
