न चैव मापकं किंचिद्धृष्ट शंससि संजय । नित्यं पाण्डुसुतान् हृष्टानभग्नान् सम्प्रशंससि,परंतु सूत! तुमने अभीतक मेरे पक्षमें घटित हुई कोई हर्षकी बात नहीं कही है; उलटे पाण्डवोंको प्रतिदिन हर्षसे पूर्ण और अभग्न (अपराजित) बताते हो
na caiva māpakaṃ kiñcid dṛṣṭaṃ śaṃsasi saṃjaya | nityaṃ pāṇḍusutān hṛṣṭān abhagnān sampraśaṃsasi ||
ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സഞ്ജയാ, എന്റെ പക്ഷത്തിന് അനുകൂലമായി തോന്നുന്ന ഒന്നും നീ പറയുന്നില്ല. മറിച്ച് നീ ദിനംപ്രതി പാണ്ഡുപുത്രന്മാരെ ഹർഷഭരിതരായും അഭഗ്നരായും—അജേയരായും—പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.
