आम वचो भीष्म: प्रहसन्‌ वै मुहुर्मुहुः । [ तनयं तुभ्यं क्रोधादुद्वृत्य चक्षुषी,यह सुनकर भीष्म बारंबार हँसकर क्रोधसे आँखें तरेरते हुए आपके पुत्रसे बोले --

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഭീഷ്മൻ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ചിരിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ക്രോധത്തോടെ കണ്ണുകൾ വീർപ്പിച്ച് നിന്റെ പുത്രനോട് പറഞ്ഞു।
