Nirmaryāda-saṃgrāma-varṇana — The Unbounded Clash and Bhīṣma’s Rallying Presence
असत्यमप्रतिष्ठ॑ ते जगदाहुरनी श्वरम् । अपरस्परसम्भूतं किमन्यत् कामहैतुकम्
asatyam apratiṣṭhaṁ te jagad āhur anīśvaram | aparaspara-sambhūtaṁ kim anyat kāma-haitukam ||
ആസുരസ്വഭാവമുള്ളവർ പറയുന്നു—ഈ ലോകം അസത്യം, അടിസ്ഥാനമില്ലാത്തത്, ഈശ്വരരഹിതം. ഇത് യാതൊരു നൈതികക്രമത്തിലോ ഉയർന്ന കാരണത്തിലോ നിന്നല്ല; വെറും സ്ത്രീ-പുരുഷ സംഗമത്തിൽ നിന്നുതന്നെ ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചു; അതിനാൽ കാമം മാത്രമേ കാരണം—ഇതൊഴികെ മറ്റെന്ത്?
