स्त्रियो रक्ष्याश्न पोष्याश्न न त्वेवं वक्तुमहसि । 'शोभने! अपनी स्त्रीकी रक्षा और पालन-पोषण करना कीट-पतंग और पशुओंका भी कर्तव्य है; अतः तुम्हें ऐसी बात नहीं कहनी चाहिये
striyo rakṣyāś ca poṣyāś ca na tv evaṁ vaktum arhasi |
നകുലൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സ്ത്രീകൾ സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും പോഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും വേണം; നീ ഇങ്ങനെ പറയരുത്. ഹേ ശോഭനേ! സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയെ കാക്കുകയും പോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് കീടപതംഗങ്ങൾക്കും മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും പോലും ഉള്ള കടമയാണ്; അതിനാൽ നീ ഇങ്ങനെ സംസാരിക്കരുത്.
