ईशानं शड्करं सर्व शिवं विश्वेश्वरं भवम् । उमापतिं पशुपतिं विश्वरूपं महेश्वरम्
īśānaṃ śaṅkaraṃ sarvaṃ śivaṃ viśveśvaraṃ bhavam | umāpatiṃ paśupatiṃ viśvarūpaṃ maheśvaram ||
ഈശാനൻ, ശങ്കരൻ, സർവമംഗളശിവൻ, വിശ്വേശ്വരൻ, ഭവൻ; ഉമാപതി, പശുപതി, വിശ്വരൂപൻ, മഹേശ്വരൻ—ഇത്തരം മഹാദേവനെ ശിരസ്സു നമിച്ച് പ്രണമിച്ച് അവന്റെ ശരണം പ്രാപിക്ക.
