Educational Q&A

After the fall of an unrighteous power, the wise and truthful gravitate toward dharma: Vidura and Sañjaya, associated with the Kuru court, seek shelter with Yudhiṣṭhira, the embodiment of righteous kingship. The verse highlights that moral authority endures beyond political victory.

Following Duryodhana’s death (and the collapse of his remaining faction), Vidura and Sañjaya leave the defeated Kaurava side and come to Yudhiṣṭhira’s presence, aligning themselves with the new, dharmic order established after the war.
