शब्दस्पर्शीं च विज्ञेयौ द्विगुणो वायुरुच्यते
śabdasparśīṃ ca vijñeyau dviguṇo vāyur ucyate
വായുദേവൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ശബ്ദവും സ്പർശവും ഇവ രണ്ടും അതിന്റെ ഗുണങ്ങളായി അറിയേണ്ടതാണ്; അതുകൊണ്ട് വായുവിനെ ‘ദ്വിഗുണം’ എന്നു പറയുന്നു, കാരണം ഈ രണ്ടു ഇന്ദ്രിയഗുണങ്ങളും അതിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
