अनार्जवमसंज्ञत्वं कर्म पापमचेतना । गुरुत्वं सन्नभावत्वमवशित्वमवाग्गति:
anārjavam asaṃjñatvaṃ karma pāpam acetanā | gurutvaṃ sannabhāvatvam avaśitvam avāggatiḥ ||
വായു പറഞ്ഞു—കപടത, ബോധശൂന്യത, അചേതനതയിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്ന പാപകർമ്മം, മനസ്സിന്റെ ഭാരത്വം, ബന്ധനകാരിയായ ‘സന്നഭാവം’ (അഹങ്കാരാസക്തമായ അസ്തിത്വബോധം), പരവശത, അധോഗതി—ഇവയാണ് ധർമ്മപതനത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ; ഇവ ജീവനെ സന്മാർഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അകറ്റി വലിച്ചിഴയ്ക്കുന്നു.
