Kārtavīrya–Samudra Saṃvāda and the Jāmadagnya Precedent (आश्वमेधिक पर्व, अध्याय २९)
समुद्र उवाच महर्षिर्जमदग्निस्ते यदि राजन् परिश्रुत: । तस्य पुत्रस्तवातिथ्यं यथावत् कर्तुमहति
samudra uvāca: maharṣir jamadagnis te yadi rājan pariśrutaḥ | tasya putras tavātithyaṃ yathāvat kartum arhati ||
സമുദ്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ! മഹർഷി ജമദഗ്നിയുടെ നാമം നീ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് പോകുക. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുത്രൻ പരശുരാമൻ നിനക്കു യഥാവിധി അതിഥിസത്കാരം ചെയ്യാൻ സമർത്ഥനും അർഹനും ആകുന്നു.
