Marutta’s Sacrifice: Indra’s Threat, Saṃvarta’s Mantric Restraint, and Divine Reconciliation (अध्याय १०)
संवर्त उवाच वज्ञादुग्राद् व्येतु भयं तवाद्य वातो भूत्वा हन्मि नरेन्द्र बज़म् । भयं त्यक्त्वा वरमन्यं वृणीष्व कं ते काम॑ं मनसा साधयामि,संवर्तने कहा--नरेन्द्र! तुम्हें इन्द्रके भयंकर वज़से आज भयभीत नहीं होना चाहिये। मैं वायुका रूप धारण करके अभी इस वज्रको निष्फल किये देता हूँ। तुम भय छोड़कर मुझसे कोई दूसरा वर माँगो। बताओ, मैं तुम्हारी कौन-सी मानसिक इच्छा पूर्ण करूँ?
Saṁvarta uvāca | vajñād ugrād vyetu bhayaṁ tavādya vāto bhūtvā hanmi narendra vajram | bhayaṁ tyaktvā varam anyaṁ vṛṇīṣva kaṁ te kāmaṁ manasā sādhayāmi ||
സംവർത്തൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നരേന്ദ്രാ! ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ ആ ഉഗ്ര വജ്രത്തെ ഇന്ന് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട. ഞാൻ വായുരൂപം ധരിച്ചു ഉടൻ തന്നെ ആ വജ്രത്തെ നിർഫലമാക്കും. ഭയം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് എന്നിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റൊരു വരം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക. പറയൂ—നിന്റെ മനസ്സിലെ ഏത് ആഗ്രഹം ഞാൻ സഫലമാക്കണം?
