धृतराष्ट्रस्य पश्चात्तापः तथा वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Remorse and Request for Forest-Retirement
यात्राभिरनुरूपाभिरनुग्राह्मा हितास्त्वया । गुणार्थिनां गुण: कार्यो विदुषां वै जनाधिप । अविचार्यश्चि ते ते स्युरचला इव नित्यश:
yātrābhir anurūpābhir anugrāhyā hitās tvayā | guṇārthināṁ guṇaḥ kāryo viduṣāṁ vai janādhipa | avicāryaś ca te te syur acalā iva nityaśaḥ ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ജനാധിപാ, നിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചവരിൽ കർത്തവ്യങ്ങളിൽ അതിവിശേഷം കഴിവുള്ളവരും ഹിതൈഷികളുമായവരെ, അവരുടെ നിലയ്ക്ക് യോജിച്ച ഉപജീവനം നൽകി അനുഗ്രഹത്തോടെ സ്വന്തമാക്കുക. ഗുണം തേടുന്നവരുടെ ഗുണം വർധിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നത് വിദ്യാവാനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ധർമ്മമാണ്. അത്തരക്കാരെക്കുറിച്ച് വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും സംശയിക്കരുത്; അവർ നിനക്കു പർവ്വതംപോലെ അചഞ്ചലമായ സഹായികളായിരിക്കും।
