Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
पिण्डो देयो नरेणेह ततो मतिरभून्मम । साक्षान्नेह मनुष्यस्य पिण्डं हि पितर: क्वचित्
piṇḍo deyo nareṇeha tato matir abhūn mama | sākṣān neha manuṣyasya piṇḍaṃ hi pitaraḥ kvacit ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഈ ലോകത്ത് മനുഷ്യൻ പിണ്ഡം നിർബന്ധമായി അർപ്പിക്കണം എന്നതാണ് എന്റെ ഉറച്ച ധാരണ. അതിനാൽ എനിക്ക് ഉറപ്പായി— ഈ ലോകത്ത് പിണ്ഡം നേരിട്ട് പിതൃകൾക്കായിട്ടുതന്നെയാണ്.
