Pānīya-dāna and Anna-dāna: The Primacy of Life-Sustaining Gifts (पानीयदान-प्रशंसा / अन्नदान-प्रशंसा)
वाप्यो वीथ्य: सभा: कूपा दीर्घिकाश्वैव सर्वश: । घोषवन्ति च यानानि युक्तान्यथ सहस्रश:
bhīṣma uvāca | vāpyō vīthyaḥ sabhāḥ kūpā dīrghikāś caiva sarvaśaḥ | ghōṣavanti ca yānāni yuktāny atha sahasraśaḥ ||
ആ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലാടവും പടിക്കിണറുകളും വഴികളും, സഭാമന്ദിരങ്ങളും, കിണറുകളും, നീണ്ട കുളങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; കൂടാതെ ഗംഭീരഘോഷത്തോടെ മുഴങ്ങുന്ന ആയിരങ്ങളായും ആയിരങ്ങളായും കെട്ടിയിട്ട രഥാദി വാഹനങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
