Bhūmi-dānasya Māhātmya
The Pre-eminence of Land-Gift
तिलान् ददत पानीयं दीपान् ददत जाग्रत । ज्ञातिभि: सह मोदध्वमेतत् प्रेत्य सुदुर्लभम्
tilān dadat pānīyaṃ dīpān dadat jāgrata | jñātibhiḥ saha modadhvam etat pretya sudurlabham ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—എള്ള് ദാനം ചെയ്യുക, കുടിവെള്ളം ദാനം ചെയ്യുക, ദീപം ദാനം ചെയ്യുക; ധർമ്മകർത്തവ്യങ്ങളിൽ സദാ ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കുക. ബന്ധുക്കളോടൊപ്പം ആനന്ദിക്കുക—മരണാനന്തരം ഇത്തരമൊരു അവസരം അത്യന്തം ദുർലഭമാണ്.
