Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
नहुष बोले--विप्रवर! इन निषादोंको एक लाख मुद्रा दीजिये। (यों पुरोहितको आज्ञा देकर वे मुनिसे बोले--) भगवन्! क्या यह आपका उचित मूल्य हो सकता है या अभी आप कुछ और देना चाहते हैं? ।।
cyavana uvāca | nāhaṃ śatasahasreṇa nimeyaḥ pārthivarṣabha | dīyatāṃ sadṛśaṃ mūlyam amātyaiḥ saha cintaya ||
നഹുഷൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“വിപ്രവരാ! ഈ നിഷാദന്മാർക്ക് ഒരു ലക്ഷം മുദ്രകൾ നൽകുക.” (പുരോഹിതനോട് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ച് മുനിയോട് പറഞ്ഞു—) “ഭഗവൻ! ഇതാണോ നിങ്ങളുടെ യുക്തമായ മൂല്യം, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഇനിയും എന്തെങ്കിലും നൽകണമെന്നുണ്ടോ?” ച്യവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“രാജശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! എന്നെ വെറും ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിൽ വിലയിരുത്തരുത്. യോജിച്ച പ്രതിഫലം നൽകുക; മന്ത്രിമാരോടൊപ്പം ആലോചിച്ച് തീരുമാനിക്കുക.”
