Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas
Bhishma signals that the ethical conclusion (dharma-viniścaya) about the topic—especially the auspiciousness and religious-ethical status of cows—has already been established, and he invites Yudhishthira to articulate any remaining doubt or desired inquiry. The emphasis is on dharma as something to be clarified through reasoned determination and attentive questioning.
In the instructional dialogue of the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhishma has been answering Yudhishthira’s questions. Here he pauses, summarizing that he has explained the greatness of cows and the dharmic conclusion on the matter, and asks Yudhishthira what else he wishes to hear next.
