Strī-satkāra (On honoring women) — Mahābhārata 13.46
कुर्वाणं हि नरं कर्म पापं रहसि सर्वदा | पश्यन्ति ऋतवश्वापि तथा दिननिशे<प्युत,एकान्तमें पापकर्म करते हुए पुरुषको ऋतुएँ तथा रात-दिन सदा देखते रहते हैं
kurvāṇaṃ hi naraṃ karma pāpaṃ rahasi sarvadā | paśyanti ṛtavaś cāpi tathā dinaniśe 'py uta ||
വിപുലൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മനുഷ്യൻ രഹസ്യത്തിൽ പാപകർമ്മം ചെയ്താലും അവൻ ഒരിക്കലും അദൃശ്യമല്ല; ഋതുക്കളും പകലും രാത്രിയും നിരന്തരം സാക്ഷിയായി കാണുന്നു. കാലത്തിന്റെ ക്രമത്തിനു മുന്നിൽ മറച്ച അധർമ്മവും സാക്ഷ്യരഹിതമല്ല.
