Vītahavya’s Attainment of Brāhmaṇya (Vītahavya–Vipratva) | वीतहव्यस्य ब्राह्मण्यप्राप्तिः

तं च प्राप्य चिरं काल॑ तत्रैव परिवर्तते | ततश्चतुःशते काले श्रोत्रियो नाम जायते । श्रोत्रियत्वे चिरं काल॑ तत्रैव परिवर्तते

taṃ ca prāpya ciraṃ kālaṃ tatraiva parivartate | tataś catuḥśate kāle śrotriyo nāma jāyate | śrotriyatve ciraṃ kālaṃ tatraiva parivartate |

ആ അവസ്ഥ പ്രാപിച്ചിട്ടും അവൻ ദീർഘകാലം അവിടെയേ, അതേ ദശയിൽ തന്നെ ചുറ്റിത്തിരിയുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് നാല് നൂറ് കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ ‘ശ്രോത്രിയൻ’ എന്ന നിലയിൽ—വേദവിദ്വാൻ ബ്രാഹ്മണകുലത്തിൽ—ജനിക്കുന്നു; ശ്രോത്രിയത്വത്തിലുമെല്ലാം ദീർഘകാലം അതേ പരിധിയിൽ അവൻ ആവാഗമനം തുടരുന്നു.
