एते पूर्व विनिर्दिष्टा: प्रोक्ता निरयगामिन: । भागिन: स्वर्गलोकस्य वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ,भरतश्रेष्ठ) पहलेके संकेतके अनुसार यहाँ नरकगामी मनुष्योंका वर्णन किया गया है। अब स्वर्गलोकमें जानेवालोंका परिचय देता हूँ, सुनो

ete pūrva-vinirdiṣṭāḥ proktā niraya-gāminaḥ | bhāginaḥ svarga-lokasya vakṣyāmi bharatarṣabha ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവർ മുമ്പേ നരകഗാമികളെന്ന് നിർദ്ദേശിച്ച് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചവരാണ്. ഇനി, ഹേ ഭാരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, സ്വർഗ്ഗലോകത്തിൽ പങ്കു ലഭിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ വിവരിക്കുന്നു—ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു കേൾക്കുക.
