काम्यया पृष्टवांस्त्वं मां ततो व्याह्मतमुत्तमम् । अनतिक्रमणीया सा कृत्स्नौलेकैस्त्रिभि: सदा
Bhīṣma uvāca: kāmyayā pṛṣṭavāṁs tvaṁ māṁ tato vyākhyātam uttamam | anatikramaṇīyā sā kṛtsnair lokais tribhiḥ sadā ||
അറിയാനുള്ള ആഗ്രഹത്തോടെ നീ എന്നോടിത് ചോദിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അതിനെ ഉത്തമമായി, പൂർണ്ണമായി വിശദീകരിച്ചു. ബ്രാഹ്മണന്റെ ആജ്ഞ മൂന്നു ലോകങ്ങളിലെ സർവ്വ ജീവികൾക്കും എന്നും ലംഘിക്കാനാകാത്തതാണ്.
