Anuśāsana-parva 17
तेजसामपि यत् तेजस्तपसामपि यत् तपः । शान्तानामपि य: शान्तो द्युतीनामपि या झ्युति:
tejasām api yat tejas tapasām api yat tapaḥ | śāntānām api yaḥ śānto dyutīnām api yā dyutiḥ ||
വായു പറഞ്ഞു— തേജസ്വികളിൽ പോലും പരമ തേജസ്സും, തപസ്വികളിൽ പോലും പരമ തപസ്സും; ശാന്തന്മാരിൽ പോലും പരമ ശാന്തിയും, ദ്യുതിമാന്മാരിൽ പോലും പരമ ദ്യുതിയും—അവൻ തന്നെയാണ് സകല ശ്രേഷ്ഠതകളിലും പരമ ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ. അവനിൽ നിന്നാണ് ലോകങ്ങൾ ഉദ്ഭവിക്കുന്നത്; അവനിലേക്കാണ് വീണ്ടും ലയിക്കുന്നത്; അവൻ സർവ്വഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവാണ്. ഹേ പുരുഷസിംഹാ! അളവറ്റ തേജസ്സുള്ള ഭഗവാൻ ശിവന്റെ ആയിരത്തി എട്ട് നാമങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്നു ശ്രവിക്ക. ഇതു കേൾക്കുന്നതുമാത്രം കൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ എല്ലാ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളും സഫലമാകും.
